Today is Women’s Equality Day and we are calling for jobs that boost families and communities. 9to5 members in 21 cities across the country will be discussing the importance of family-flexible policies that allow people to care for themselves and their families without jeopardizing their jobs or economic security.
Next week marks the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington. That monumental event and the organizing that followed helped reshape our country and the economy. But we aren’t done yet. Call your Senators and Congressional Representative and tell them that, on this 50th anniversary of the March on Washington, we expect them to take action on the Voting Rights Act to protect the voting rights of all Americans.

A new poll, just released by the National Employment Law Project (NELP), finds that 80 percent of Americans – including 62 percent of Republicans and 80 percent of Independents – support raising the minimum wage to $10.10 per hour and indexing it to the cost of living. Sign the petition to raise the minimum wage and boost our economy.
